Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is held during the 9:00 am Mass for children in
1st through 5th grade. Children gather in church with the St. Theresa
community for opening prayer.  Following the prayer, the children are called to
the altar for a blessing after which they process with their leaders to the
Church Hall for their own celebration of God’s Word.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word follows the same order of the Mass: Old
Testament reading, Responsorial Psalm, Gospel, Reflection, Creed, and Prayers
of the Faithful. The readings for Children’s Liturgy are the same as those being
read in the church but are written for children. During Children’s Liturgy of the
Word, the children are active participants in the liturgy and have the opportunity
to reflect on the readings and pray together.

The children rejoin their families in church for Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word will be held Sundays from September 13 through
    June 6(except holidays).
