St. Mary's Center
- St. Mary's Center serves low income seniors in the West Oakland and
Emeryville area. It is located at 925 Brockhurst at the corner of San Pablo
Avenue. The center provides many social services to Seniors. During cold
winter months, they also operate a senior shelter on their site. They have been
very successful at getting seniors off the street into regular housing. Our
outreach is to provide a Sunday dinner four times a year. We feed between
50 and 75 people at these dinners. Currently the main course is prepared at
Oliveto so we provide the accompaniments as well as table decorations and
bingo prizes. Volunteers help prepare the salad and dessert. We heat the main
course, serve the Seniors and clean up.
