Memory Bears

Memory and Comfort Bears are made for those in emotional need as a comforting keepsake.  The bears are intended to soften feelings of grief, to help recall happy memories of a loved one, and to bring some measure of solace to each person who receives a bear.

For those feeling the loss a special person in their lives, the St Theresa Memory Bear group will take an article of clothing of a person who has passed away (given to us by family or friends)and create a small keepsake bear(s).  These bears are intended to serve as a sunny reminder for adults and children alike of someone very dear to their hearts.

The group also works with a hospice organizations to create comfort bears for patients from material that is donated or, as with the memory bears, from a special article of clothing or fabric given to us by the patient or their family/friends.  These bears can soften a rough day for patients and can bring a sense of comfort and peace to those nearing the end of their earthly journey.

There is no charge for any of the bears. Each is made with with love and never more so than when a bear is made for our St Theresa parishioners and their families/friends The Memory Bear volunteers consider it a unique calling to help a family through the grieving process or a suffering patient in this small, special way.
