The Consolation Ministry offers support and assistance to grieving families by providing assistance at post-funeral receptions held in our parish facilities. When planning a funeral or memorial service at St. Theresa’s, the family has the option to use the Meeting Rooms or the Event Center for a reception following the church service.
This can be a very confusing and stressful time, so, in order to relieve the family of one less detail, Consolation Ministry members provide homemade baked goods and coffee for any reception, assist in the set up of the meeting rooms or Event Center, and ensure that the reception runs as smoothly and as effortlessly as possible.
If a professional caterer is used, Consolation Ministry members assist the caterer as needed with set-up, food service, etc.
Members can volunteer to bake, to assist with the set-up and reception, or both. When needed, an email is sent asking for volunteers and one may choose to participate or not, as their schedule allows. It is a special blessing to assist our fellow parishioners in their time of need in this small but important way.
